Koyra: Chairman of the board of directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), journalist Anwar Aldin, today made 12-point promises while visiting the people in the two coastal upazilas, Koyra and Paikgacha, of the country’s southern region. He is seeking nomination from BNP for the Khulna-6 constituency.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier, Anwar Aldin conducted public outreach in the area based on the 31-point outline announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Anwar Aldin, also joint editor of the daily Ittefaq, stated, “The people of Koyra and Paikgacha have a strong desire for change. They want a society free from terrorism, extortion, and harassment. I want to stand by the people on the path of this change and work to build Koyra they dream of.”
The senior journalist highlighted the many hardships faced by coastal communities, including natural disasters, unemployment, inadequate healthcare, drugs, and crime. To address these challenges, he has announced 12 promises with further plans to follow based on priority.
Key promises include ensuring accessible healthcare for every member of every family, establishing modern hospitals with qualified medical staff, and maintaining a peaceful environment for education. Anwar Aldin also pledged to provide employment opportunities for individuals of all educational backgrounds and to directly support local businesses and traders.
Additionally, he promised to improve infrastructure by making roads wide and smooth, ensuring night-time security, and creating adequate playgrounds for children and adolescents. Safe residential houses for the elderly and guaranteed social security for all citizens of Koyra and Paikgacha were also highlighted.
Anwar Aldin committed to personally supervising the distribution of grants from the national budget to ensure they are allocated properly. He also announced the establishment of a direct “hotline number” for citizens to report problems and provide suggestions, with a promise to address issues directly.
Efforts to protect the environment were also included, with plans to plant medicinal plants in every village. Lastly, Anwar Aldin assured that the entire boundary of Koyra-Paikgacha would always be provided with peace and security by the police and local government administration.
