Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has scheduled January 11, 2026, as the deadline for submitting the probe report in a case involving Ayon Osman, son of former lawmaker Shamim Osman, and seven others. The case pertains to allegations of crimes against humanity committed in Narayanganj during the July-August Mass Uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, who is the chairman of the three-judge panel of ICT-1, issued the order after granting an additional three months for the filing of the report. The extension was requested by Prosecutor Abdus Sattar Palwan, who filed a plea before the tribunal seeking more time.

The prosecution alleges that former Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman and his associates were involved in committing crimes against humanity during the July-August Mass Uprising in Narayanganj. The prosecution claims that they orchestrated mass killings as part of an effort to suppress the uprising.
