Kushtia: Legendary folk singer Farida Parveen was laid to eternal rest at her family graveyard in Kushtia town this evening. She was buried following a namaz-e-janaza held at the municipal Eidgah after Isha prayers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, tributes were paid to the “Queen of Lalon Geeti” at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka earlier. Farida Parveen, celebrated for her soulful renditions of Lalon’s songs, passed away at the age of 71 on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at Universal Medical College Hospital in Dhaka.
