MoU Signed Between National University and Unique Hotels to Enhance Hospitality Education

Dhaka: The National University (NU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unique Hotels and Resorts Limited to strengthen collaboration in the field of tourism and hospitality management. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital on Monday.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, under the MoU, Unique Hotels and Resorts, which operates the five-star Dhaka Sheraton and Westin Dhaka, will provide training and necessary support to students of the National University to enhance their skills in the tourism and hospitality sector. NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Amanullah, speaking as the chief guest, emphasized the importance of establishing linkages between academia and industry to benefit students in their professional lives and reduce unemployment rates.

He highlighted the increasing demand for tourism and hospitality professionals both locally and internationally, underlining the sector's promising future. Dr Amanullah stated that with proper training, graduates will be able to work with dignity in the global job market and potentially emerge as successful entrepreneurs.

Unique Hotels and Resorts CEO Sakhawat Hossain attended the event as a special guest, along with officials from both institutions, marking a significant step towards enhancing the quality of hospitality education in the country.
