Dhaka: The Dhaka University authorities have formed two separate committees to investigate a rape threat made on social media against a female student running in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election. The DUCSU election commission and the university's proctorial team have established two and three-member probe bodies, respectively, to address the situation.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at a press conference held at the Senate Building, DUCSU Chief Returning Officer Prof Mohammad Jashim Uddin announced that the election commission's committee has been instructed to submit its findings within three days. He stated that the committee is also focusing on measures to combat cyberbullying and has already engaged with the chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

Prof Jashim further mentioned that a meeting was conducted with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner to discuss security measures for the DUCSU election day. A security protocol has been developed to ensure safety on campus, aiming to protect students and maintain order during the election process.
