Sunamganj: A total of 33 meritorious students under 12 upazilas of the district were awarded scholarships and crests today in recognition of their academic achievements. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ilias Mia distributed the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a programme held at the Zila Parishad hall this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by Sunamganj Zila Parishad and presided over by Zila Parishad Executive Officer Ayesha Akhter. The scholarship distribution was attended by several notable figures, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Karim, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Taposh Ranjan Shil, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sultana Jerin, District Secondary Education Officer Jahangir Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services Suchitra Roy, LGED Executive Engineer Anwar Hossain, Principal Mahbubur Rahman, District Primary Education Officer Mohan Lal Das, Teacher Subash, and Journalist Latifur Rahman Raju.
Of the 33 students recognized for their academic excellence, eight are at the secondary level, and 25 are at the primary level. The scholarships aim to encourage and support the students in their educational pursuits.
