Dhaka: Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid announced that a quick response team has been operational nationwide to combat violence against women. Speaking as the chief guest at a function organized by the non-government organization 'Jago Nari Unnayan Sangstha' in the city's Gulshan area, she emphasized the role of the social welfare ministry in this initiative.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sharmeen highlighted the evolving nature of early marriage, attributing some changes to the proliferation of mobile phones. She expressed concern over how technology is being exploited, leading to minor girls being misled under the pretense of love due to mobile phone misuse.

Sharmeen Murshid urged guardians to remain vigilant to protect young girls from falling into traps and becoming victims of violence. She called upon educated youths from 22 organizations working together to prevent violence against women to leverage technology in their efforts.

She concluded by stating that personal, social, and family awareness is crucial in safeguarding girls from violence.
