Youth Succumbs to Snakebite in Jhenaidah

Jhenaidah: A youth died from snakebite at Garapota village under Maheshpur upazila of the district this morning. The youth was identified as Shahriar Rahman, 22, son of Aminur Rahman of the village.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, family sources reported that a poisonous snake bit Shahriar as he was returning home at night after fishing in Mathabhanga Beel near the village with friends. Initially, he was taken to a local Ojha (Folk healer) for treatment.



However, as Shahriar’s condition worsened, he was rushed to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex this morning. Unfortunately, the doctor on duty declared him dead upon arrival.



Officer-in-Charge (OC Investigation) of Maheshpur Police Station, Sajjadur Rahman, confirmed the incident.
