Bangladesh Men’s Hockey Team Heads to India for 2025 Asia Cup

Dhaka: The Bangladesh national men's hockey team departed for India this morning to participate in the 2025 Men's Asia Cup Hockey Tournament, scheduled to take place from August 29 to September 7 in Rajgir, a city in the eastern Indian state of Bihar.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh has been placed in Pool B, alongside defending champions South Korea, Malaysia, and Chinese Taipei. The team will kick off their campaign against Malaysia on August 29, followed by matches against Chinese Taipei on August 30 and five-time champions South Korea on September 1. All matches are set to be held at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir.

The Bangladesh squad for the Asia Cup includes goalkeepers Biplob Kujur and Nuruzzaman Noyon. The defenders are Mohammad Ashraful Islam, Rezaul Karim Babu, Forhad Ahmed Situl, Sohanur Rahman Sabuj, Hozzaifa Hossain, Amirul Islam, and Mohammad Mehedi Hasan. The midfielders consist of Mohammad Roman Sarkar, Mohammad Fazle Hossain Rabbi, Al Nahiyan Shuvo, Taiyeb Ali, and Tanvir Rahman Siam. The forwards are Obaidul Hossain Joy, Mohammad Rakibul Hasan, Mohammad Arshad Hossain, and Mohammad Abdullah. Mohammad Shahidur Rahman Saju is named as the standby player.
