Jessore: Host Jessore district and Satkhira district claimed victories in their respective opening men’s and women’s division matches of the Rupsha zone National Kabaddi Championship, which commenced today at the Jessore gymnasium as part of the Festival of Youth 2025.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the competition features seven teams in the women’s division and five teams in the men’s division, all divided into two groups. In the men’s division, Jessore district secured a dominant win over Meherpur district with a scoreline of 71-19 points. Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Satkhira district overcame Kushtia district with a 34-20 points victory.
The opening ceremony was marked by Jessore Deputy Commissioner Md Azharul Islam, who inaugurated the event as the chief guest. The National Kabaddi Championship this year is organized across eight zones nationally. Prior to the current matches in the Rupsha Zone, competitions in the Padma, Teesta, and Brahmaputra zones had already been successfully concluded.
