Dhaka:State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and Railways, Habibur Rashid Habib, announced a new initiative aimed at bringing hospital treatment facilities to people's doorsteps through technology. This announcement was made today during the inauguration of an online serial or e-appointment system for outdoor treatment facilities at Mugda Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the state minister emphasized that this technology-based initiative will significantly reduce delays and alleviate the sufferings of patients seeking treatment at hospitals. The e-appointment system will allow patients to book appointments with doctors online, thereby saving time and money and making healthcare services more accessible.
The government is implementing various measures to enhance the accessibility and user-friendliness of the 1000-bed Mugda Hospital's treatment facilities. Habib stressed the importance of making healthcare services more organized and accessible, urging the best possible use of digital technology to improve efficiency and transparency in government hospitals.
The introduction of the e-appointment system is expected to better manage patient pressure in outdoor departments and foster greater accountability in healthcare services. Habib highlighted the state's responsibility to ensure efficient and modern healthcare services for the public, particularly in government hospitals.
The hospital authority noted that the new system would allow patients to make appointments with outdoor physicians online, thereby reducing waiting times, especially for those traveling from remote areas. The successful implementation of this system is anticipated to make outpatient services at MMCH more accessible and patient-friendly.
Key attendees at the inauguration included MMCH Principal Professor Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Vice-Principal Dr. Muhammad Mahmud Alam Tarek, National Consultant Dr. Shah Ali Akbar Ashraf, and representatives from the Directorate General of Health Services, among others.
