Dhaka: Land Ministry’s Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed has announced that the implementation of an online land management system has significantly reduced instances of fake land registration and fraud.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the senior secretary highlighted that the online registration and e-mutation system automatically updates ownership information. This technological advancement has diminished the likelihood of producing fake documents and has been instrumental in preventing land-related crimes. These remarks were made during the 77th team meeting held in the ministry conference room.
The land secretary emphasized that the digitization team, established under the directives of the Chief Adviser, is actively reviewing departmental tasks and submitting weekly reports. He noted that digital services are enhancing the satisfaction levels among service recipients by ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Further, he stated that inspection and monitoring activities have been intensified across both urban and rural areas. He issued a stern warning to officials against engaging in dishonest practices or harassing service seekers, emphasizing that strict actions will be taken against such misconduct. The provision of people-friendly land services remains the foremost goal of the Land Ministry.
Additionally, the government plans to appoint a panel of lawyers to handle cases involving government interests. The meeting also discussed the operation of regular mobile courts and the imposition of fines to halt illegal sand and soil extraction activities. Senior officials of the ministry were in attendance at the meeting.
