Dhaka: Land Ministry’s Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed today said that the introduction of online land management has significantly reduced opportunities for fake registrations and fraudulent activities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the automated updating of ownership information through online registration and e-mutation systems has greatly diminished the scope for producing counterfeit documents and helps prevent land-related crimes. Saleh Ahmed added that under the directive of the Chief Adviser, a Land Services Digitization Team has been formed to address these issues.

The Senior Secretary made these remarks while presiding over the 77th meeting of the team at the ministry’s conference room, as stated in a PID release. He noted that monitoring has been intensified across all levels of land service delivery, and action is being taken if inspection reports find evidence of dishonesty or harassment of service recipients.

Saleh Ahmed further mentioned that the Ministry of Finance has approved the appointment of in-house panel lawyers for the Ministry of Land to properly conduct legally sensitive cases related to government interests. Additional Secretaries Md. Shariful Islam, Saima Yunus, Md. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, and Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, along with other senior officials of the ministry, were present at the meeting.
