Bogura: The Detective Branch (DB) of police in Bogura have apprehended five alleged dacoits in connection with a robbery at the Pran Integrated Dairy Farm. The arrests took place on Sunday night in Dhaka's Ashulia and Dholaikhal areas.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police seized two trucks used in the robbery and recovered over Taka 1.05 lakh in looted money from the suspects. Additional Superintendent of Police (Adl. SP) Atoar Rahman shared these details during a press briefing at the Detective Branch office.
Acting on secret information, a team from the district DB conducted raids at Bypail and Nishchintapur Bazar under Ashulia Thana and in Dholaikhal, leading to the arrest of the inter-district dacoits. The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Didar, Md Abdul Mannan, Md Sohel, Md Ziaur Rahman, and Md Zafar Hossain.
Atoar Rahman stated that the arrested suspects and their accomplices committed the robbery at the Pran Integrated Dairy Farm in Partepur under Shahjahanpur Thana on August 8. The robbers looted eight high breed cows valued at approximately Taka 10 lakh and various instruments worth Taka 12 lakh at gunpoint.
A dacoity case has been filed with Shahjahanpur Thana in connection with the incident. Rahman further alleged that the suspects belong to an inter-district dacoity gang involved in various criminal activities across the country. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other gang members and recover the stolen goods.
