Zia Heart Foundation Honors Late Minister Khurshid Jahan Haque and Her Sons

Dinajpur: Zia Heart Foundation (ZHF) and its affiliated organizations today accorded a reception to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's elder sister and former minister late Khurshid Jahan Haque and her four sons at Dinajpur Zia Heart Foundation and Research Institute Hospital. The four sons of the late Khurshid Jahan are Shahriar Akhter Haque Don, Dr. Hasnain Akhter Haque, Sanzid Akhter Haque, and Tasin Akhter Haque.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by Zia Heart Foundation and Research Institute President Shahriar Akhter Haque. During the function, general secretary AKM Azad presented the various development activities initiated by the late minister Khurshid Jahan Haque. Azad highlighted her successful execution of development projects in the district, originally undertaken by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. These projects included Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital, Barapukuria Coal Mine, Madhyapara Kathin Shila Project, Dinajpur Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, and several other educational and cultural institutions.

Azad also noted that Khurshid Jahan Haque had initiated the establishment of an international standard hospital for heart disease patients in the district. Her contributions to the region's development were further emphasized by her roles as a lawmaker from 1991 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2006, and as the Minister for Women and Children Affairs.

Shahriar Akhter Haque, one of the sons of the late Khurshid Jahan, expressed gratitude to the foundation, acknowledging the Zia Heart Foundation and its affiliated organizations for providing extensive healthcare services to people across eight districts in the northern region, including Greater Dinajpur, without governmental assistance.
