Manama: After a full day of rest, the Bangladesh U-23 national football team has completed its fifth training session in Bahrain ahead of their second friendly match against their Bahrain counterpart. The coaching staff focused on correcting mistakes from the previous match. Despite the extremely hot weather, the players showed great determination and commitment, practicing intensively for nearly ninety minutes, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation today (Thursday).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh under-23 national football team is set to face Bahrain U-23 in the second friendly match scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) as part of their preparations for the upcoming AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers. This strategic match provides the team with an opportunity to fine-tune their skills and rectify previous errors before heading to Vietnam for the qualifiers.
Bangladesh U-23’s goalkeeper, Mohammad Asif, expressed a positive outlook on the training session, noting the focus on rectifying past mistakes. “Alhamdulillah, we had a great training session today… our coach focused on the mistakes we made in the last match… despite the scorching hot weather, we kept our training on, which I think is good for the team,” Asif stated. He emphasized the importance of playing practice matches against teams of similar caliber to those they will encounter in the AFC Cup qualifiers.
Goalkeeping coach Masud Ahmed Uzzal highlighted the efforts made to address the errors from the previous match during the training session. He mentioned that the players were given clear explanations of their mistakes, and the coaching staff was pleased with the progress made.
Earlier, on August 18, the Bangladesh U-23 football team faced a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Bahrain U-23 team in the first closed-door friendly match. This upcoming second friendly offers a crucial chance for the team to rebound and showcase their improvements.
