Rangamati Municipality Initiates Tree Plantation Drive for 1,000 Saplings

Rangamati: Rangamati Municipality launched a tree plantation campaign to plant 1,000 saplings of fruit, timber, and medicinal plants at different points in the district town. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah Maruf inaugurated the programme at Rangamati Central Shaheed Minar area around 10 am today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Director of the Rangamati Local Government Department and Municipality Administrator Md. Mobarak Hossain Parvez presided over the programme. Municipality Executive Officer Mohammad Yasin Khandaker, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Rangamati Press Club General Secretary Anwar Al Haque, and other officials of the municipality were present at the event.



DC Mohammad Habib Ullah Maruf emphasized the importance of new projects like tree plantation to enhance the appeal of the tourist city Rangamati. He urged both government and private organisations to contribute to the beautification of Rangamati. He stated that it is vital to plant trees annually during the monsoon season to protect the environment and highlighted the role of educational institutions in raising awareness and encouraging tree planting.



Municipality Administrator Md. Mobarak Hossain outlined the plan to plant 1,000 fruit, forest, and medicinal tree saplings in the Rangamati municipal area, as part of the ongoing efforts to enrich the local environment and engage the community in sustainable practices.
