Bhola: Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has suspended launch services on 20 internal routes since the last three days due to inclement weather. The passengers in the coastal regions of the district are facing trouble for their movement on waterways, BIWTA officials told BSS.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bhola meteorological department has recorded 41 millimeters of rainfall in the district for the last 24 hours. Due to heavy rainfall over the past couple of days in Bhola district, meteorologists from the Met Office have stated that launch movements have remained suspended.
BIWTA Official Riad Hossain mentioned that launch movement on waterways in Bhola district will be allowed once weather conditions return to normal.
