DMP Enforces Ban on Gatherings Near Bangladesh Secretariat and Jamuna

Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on all forms of gatherings around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the Jamuna official residence of the Chief Adviser. This directive will remain in effect until further notice starting from Friday.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Commissioner, SM Sazzat Ali, signed a public order invoking powers under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). The ban aims to ensure the security of both the public and the Chief Adviser.



The order specifically prohibits meetings, mass gatherings, processions, human chains, sit-in strikes, and similar activities. These restrictions apply to the areas surrounding the Bangladesh Secretariat and the Jamuna official residence, including the zone between Hotel Intercontinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Sambhal, Officers Club Crossing, and Mintu Road Crossing.
