Bagerhat: Bangladesh Nationalist Party-(BNP) today held a victory rally to mark the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising in Bagerhat. The rally, which began at 5:30 pm from the old market intersection area, traversed various roads before culminating at the central Shaheed Minar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victory rally saw participation from prominent BNP figures including Central Committee Research Secretary, Agriculturist Shamimur Rahman Shamim, member Adv. Ahiduzzaman Dipu, and former Bagerhat District BNP President MA Salam. Other attendees were Member Secretary Mozaffar Rahman Alam, BNP leader Shamsher Ali Mohan, Khadem Niyamul Nasir Alap, and Shahed Ali Robi. Syed Nasir Ahmed Malek, Hadiuzzaman Hiro, and newly elected President of Bagerhat Inter-District Bus Minibus Owners Association Sardar Liaquat Hossain also joined, alongside former General Secretary of District Jubo Dal Sujan Molla, Convener of Swechchhasebak Dal Zahidul Islam Shanto, President of Mahila Dal Shahida Akhter, and Former General Secretary of Chhatra Dal Ali Saddam Dwip.
Following the rally, BNP Central Committee Research Secretary Krishibid Shamimur Rahman Shamim delivered a speech at the Shaheed Minar. He emphasized that while the people have been liberated from what he described as the oppressive regime of Hasina, elections remain crucial for ensuring democratic sustainability and securing the just rights of the populace.
Shamim also commended the announcement of the July Charter and expressed support for the Chief Advisor’s declaration to hold the 13th national parliamentary polls in the upcoming February.
