Dhaka: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today urged parents to share responsibilities with teachers for improving primary education quality. 'I hope along with teachers, parents will play their due role in improving the quality of primary education,' he said while opening eight new buildings of government primary schools.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Poddar emphasized the importance of parents' involvement, alongside teachers, in enhancing the quality of primary education. He urged all concerned to lay emphasis on the practice of the mother language and mathematics, indicating their significance in foundational education.
The government has constructed these buildings under a project aimed at developing aesthetic school infrastructures in the capital. Poddar referred to the schools as community assets that require collective responsibility for their maintenance to ensure a proper school environment. This initiative highlights the government's commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
The event was presided over by Director General of the Department of Primary Education Abu Noor Md Shamsuzzaman. Secretary of the Primary and Mass Education Abu Taher Md Masud Rana and Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department Md Abdur Rashid Miah attended as special guests. Additionally, Director of the Project for Establishment and Infrastructure Development of Government Primary Schools in Dhaka Metropolitan City and Purbachal, Md Saifur Rahman, delivered the welcome speech.
