Dhaka: About 1.5 lakh policemen will undergo training starting in September in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, as announced by Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today. This initiative is part of a concerted effort to ensure smooth and secure electoral processes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Alam disclosed the training schedule during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, which followed a comprehensive review meeting on law and order and election preparedness. The meeting, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, took place at the State Guest House Jamuna and included detailed discussions on enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.
Alam highlighted the meeting’s focus on bolstering coordination among various law enforcement agencies to maintain stability during the elections. Additionally, he revealed plans for the deployment of 60,000 army personnel to support security measures during the polls.
