Dhaka: The Milestone School and College has established a seven-member committee to ascertain the actual number of fatalities, injuries, and missing persons following a fighter jet crash into its building in the Uttara area of the capital on Monday. The committee, composed of officers, faculty members, guardians, and students, is tasked with compiling a list of the deceased and missing individuals, including their addresses.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an office order dated July 22 and signed by the college principal mandates the committee to deliver its report within three working days. The announcement was also shared by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul on his verified Facebook account.
The committee is headed by Milestone School and College Principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam. The other six members include Vice-Principal (Administration) Md. Masud Alam, Head Mistress Khadija Akhter, Coordinator Lutfunnesa Lopa, Guardian Moniruzzaman Mollah (parent of Zaima Jahan, Class IV, Class Code: 2278), and two students from the Science Department, Class XII, Maruf Bin Ziaur Rahman and Md. Tasneem Bhuiyan Pratik.
The incident occurred when a training aircraft of the Air Force accidentally crashed into the school's Diabari permanent campus on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1:12 PM, resulting in numerous casualties among young students, teachers, staff members, and guardians.
