Construction of ‘July Shaheed Smritistambha’ Inaugurated in Chapainawabganj

Chapainawabganj: The construction of the ‘July Shaheed Smritistambha’ (July Martyr Memorial) commenced on Monday afternoon in the Pathanpara Food Office area of Chapainawabganj district. Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdus Samad officially launched the project, which is dedicated to honoring the martyrs of the July uprising.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the memorial will be constructed under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD) with an estimated budget of Tk 14 lakh. The project is expected to serve as a significant tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during the period of unrest.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several notable officials, including Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, and Chief Executive Officer of the District Council Afaz Uddin. Civil Surgeon Dr. AKM Shahab Uddin and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Naqib Hasan Tarafdar were also present, along with Additional Distr
ict Magistrate Md. Anisur Rahman and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Salma Akhter.

Also in attendance were Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Md. Nahinur Rahman, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department Md. Yasin Hossain, and Ashadul Islam, the father of July martyr Tariq Hossain. The event marked a significant step in recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of those involved in the July uprising.
