Bogura: A farmer was tragically killed by a lightning strike at Ramchandrapur village in Shajahanpur upazila. The incident occurred while the farmer, identified as Babla, 50, was working in a field near his home.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the lightning strike, which was accompanied by a rainstorm, hit Babla around 12:15 pm as he was cutting grass. Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shajahanpur Police Station, confirmed the details of the incident.
In the aftermath of the strike, locals rushed to Babla's aid and transported him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctors at the hospital pronounced him dead shortly after his arrival.
