Thakurgaon: Students of different educational institutions brought out a procession here today in protest against the brutal killing of businessman Sohag at Mitford in Dhaka yesterday. The procession began from the Thakurgaon Boro Maidan and paraded different thoroughfares of the city before holding a rally.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, expressing deep concern over the nature of brutality on businessman Sohag, the speakers said the extortionists have destabilized the country. The perpetrators of the heinous acts would face the same fate of fascist Awami League if such activities continue in the country, they warned.
The speakers demanded that those involved in the murder, regardless of the party affiliation, must be brought under the judicial process immediately. Leaders and activists of BNP's affiliated Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal also held a protest rally in the town and demanded the culprits be brought to justice quickly.
