Haluaghat: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince emphasized his party's commitment to realizing the goals of the July Mass Uprising. Speaking at a ward council and membership renewal ceremony for BNP leaders and activists in Jugali Union under Haluaghat Upazila, Prince highlighted the party's dedication to repaying the blood debt of the martyrs by engaging with the public through practical programs.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prince underscored the BNP's mission to establish democracy through people's politics, as stated in a post on the BNP Media Cell's verified Facebook account. He recalled the efforts of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who transformed political engagement by taking it out of leaders' drawing rooms and into rural areas, promoting accountability and public participation.
Prince affirmed that the BNP is continuing the legacy of Shaheed Zia with determination, despite facing challenges such as repression and fascism. He advocated for swift political reforms and fair elections to honor the martyrs of the past 15 years, including those from the mass uprising.
The council event was led by Jugli Union BNP convener Qari Abul Kashem and moderated by member secretary Krishak Abdus Sattar. Other notable speakers included Haluaghat Upazila BNP convener Aslam Mia Babul, member secretary Abu Hasnat Badrul Kabir, joint convener Ali Ashraf, Kazi Farid Ahmed Palash, and chairman Shafiqur Rahman.
