Drug Trader Held with Yaba Tablets in Khulna

Khulna: Police on Tuesday arrested a drug dealer with 19,000 contrabanned Yaba tablets from zero point area under Harintana police station in the city. The arrested person is identified as Md Omar Faruq, son of Md Moshiur Rahman, a resident of Pushpokati village in Debhata upazila under Satkhira district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Harintana Police Station, Sheikh Khairul Bashar, confirmed the arrest and stated that the police had received information about a large consignment of drugs from Satkhira that was headed to Dhaka via Khulna. Acting on this intelligence, police set up a checkpoint in the area at noon.



As police approached, the suspect attempted to disembark from an Imad Paribahan bus. Police apprehended the drug peddler after stopping him and recovered 19,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from his bag. A case has been filed with the Harintana police station in connection with the arrest and seizure.
