Chief Adviser Urges Action for Fair Rawhide Prices During Eid-ul-Azha

Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Yunus today emphasized the need for measures to ensure fair pricing of rawhide from sacrificial animals, highlighting its significance for the welfare of the poor. In a televised address to the nation on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Azha, he stressed the importance of such income for the marginalized communities and madrasa students across the country.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser stated that a high-level government committee has been established to oversee fair pricing and waste management related to rawhide. Additionally, a control room has been set up to address issues, complaints, and suggestions through a dedicated hotline. Prof Yunus announced that 30,000 tonnes of salt have been distributed free of charge to aid in the preservation of rawhides.



Prof Yunus also highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness during Eid-ul-Azha and called on the youth to participate actively in keeping the environment clean. He extended greetings and congratulations to all who performed the holy Hajj, celebrating the successful Hajj management facilitated by the ‘Labbaik’ app under government oversight. Prof Yunus noted that there were no reported irregularities, and for the first time, no public funds were used to send pilgrims to Hajj.



Commencing his speech, Prof Yunus conveyed his Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the nation, underscoring the significance of unity and collective responsibility during this festive time.
