Dhaka: Five Eid-ul-Azha congregations will be held tomorrow at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque this year.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the congregational prayers are scheduled at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, and 10:45 am, as confirmed by an Islamic Foundation press release. Dr Khalilur Rahman Madani is set to lead the first jamaat at 7:00 am.

The second congregation will be conducted by Dr Mawlana Abu Saleh Patwary at 8:00 am. The third jamaat, scheduled for 9:00 am, will be led by Dr Mushtaque Ahmad. Mufti M Abdullah will preside over the fourth jamaat at 10:00 am, while the fifth and final congregation at 10:45 am will be conducted by Mawlana Mohammad Noor Uddin. In the event any designated Imam is unable to attend, Mawlana Muhammad Shahidul Islam will lead the respective congregation.

This year, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Bangladesh on June 7. It is one of the most significant religious festivals for Muslims, marked by ritual animal sacrifice. The new moon of Zilhajj was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, leading to the observance of Eid-ul-Azha there on June 6, with Hajj taking place on June 5. Eid in Bangladesh is typically celebrated a day after it is observed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
