Rajshahi: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), district administration, and other relevant organizations have meticulously planned a series of programs to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in the city, ensuring the observance is marked with religious devotion.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the primary Eid congregation will take place at Shah Makhdum Central Eidgah Maidan at 7:30 am. In case of adverse weather conditions, the largest congregation will be relocated to Dargah Mosque at 8:00 am. The second and third largest congregations will convene at Tikapara Eidgah Maidan and Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at 8:00 am and 8:15 am, respectively.

Additional Eid congregations are scheduled at various venues, including Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, and several others, totaling over 150 jamaats across traditional and temporary locations in the city. Each of these will be managed by their respective Eid jamaat committees.

RCC is providing essential support for the city’s Eid gatherings by arranging decorations for around 100 Eid jamaats. The city will be adorned with national flags and banners displaying “Eid-Mubarak” in Bangla and Arabic. Rajshahi Metropolitan Police and RAB have implemented comprehensive security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration.

Special meals will be provided to inmates in various hospitals, jails, and Government Shishu Sadan as part of the celebration. Additionally, RCC has identified 210 designated spots across 30 Wards for the slaughtering of sacrificial animals, urging residents to utilize these areas to maintain the city’s air and water purity.

RCC is committed to the timely removal of animal waste, aiming to clear it by the night following Eid day. All conservancy staff holidays have been canceled to facilitate this effort, as stated by Chief Conservatory Officer Sheikh Mamun. Streets will be cleaned from 11:00 am, with water tanks deployed from 2:00 pm to cleanse blood-stained areas. To ensure environmental protection and eliminate odors, bleaching powder and lime will be applied to all slaughtering locations.
