Light to Moderate Rain Expected Over Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department today forecasted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at some places across the country for the next 24 hours from 9 am. The forecast indicates that many areas in the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions could experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the forecast also suggests that a few places in the Rangpur, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions, along with one or two locations in the Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barishal divisions, may see similar weather patterns. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is expected in Mymensingh and Chattogram divisions, while Sylhet division may experience moderately heavy to very heavy falls.



The monsoon is reported to be fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay. Day temperatures might rise slightly, whereas night temperatures could see a slight decline across the country. Meanwhile, a mild heatwave is currently affecting the Khulna division and may extend further.



The maximum temperature in the country was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius in Satkhira, while the minimum was 21.5 degrees Celsius in Tangail. Cox’s Bazar experienced the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, recording 109 millimeters of rain. The sun is set to set in the capital at 6:43 pm today and will rise at 5:11 am tomorrow.
