BMU Vice Chancellor Stresses Importance of Publishing Beneficial Research

Dhaka: Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam today emphasized the need for prioritizing research publications that contribute positively to the welfare of the nation, science, and society.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Alam made these remarks during the distribution of Resident Thesis Grants to 549 residents pursuing higher medical education at the BMU A Block auditorium. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that thesis grants and research funding are utilized effectively for public benefit.



Dr. Alam pointed out the current low ratio of thesis publications and stressed the necessity for improvement in this area. He urged researchers to focus on publishing their work in indexed journals, BMU journals, and those recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), to enhance the quality of medical education, services, and research.



The event was also addressed by BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad, Treasurer Professor Dr Nahrin Akhter, and Registrar Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam. BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader presided over the ceremony.
