Jashore: A college student was killed and another injured as a truck hit their motorbike in the Notun Khaertala area of Sadar upazila this afternoon. The deceased was identified as Asif Hossain, 19, son of Meher Ali from Jhaaudia village in Churamonkati union of Sadar upazila, and a first-year student of Jashore Technical and Management College.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 2 pm on the Jashore-Jhenaidah road when a truck collided with the motorcycle from the opposite direction. The impact left the rider, Asif, dead on the spot, while the pillion passenger sustained injuries. Abul Hasnat, Officer-in-Charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Locals quickly responded to the accident by rescuing the injured passenger, identified as Rakibul, and transporting him to Jashore General Hospital for medical attention.
