Gaibandha: Two minor boys tragically drowned while playing in a canal at Palashbari upazila of the district this noon. The deceased were identified as Abid, son of Shafiqul Islam, and Labib, son of Abdul Aziz, both residents of Boirihorinmari village in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the boys were playing on a makeshift raft in the canal when they accidentally fell into the water and drowned. Family members later recovered their bodies, which were found floating in the canal.
Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Police Station Zulfikar Ali Bhutto confirmed the incident, providing official acknowledgment of the tragedy. The community has been left in shock as they grapple with the loss of the two young lives.
