Khulna: A Khulna court today sentenced two siblings to death for killing a man in the city’s Daulatpur area four years ago. Sumi Ahmed, Judge of the Metropolitan Sessions Court, pronounced the verdict in the presence of the convicts.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the prosecution revealed that police recovered the decomposed body of Abdur Rashid Dhali, a resident of the Daulatpur area, from the Teligati Bypass Highway under Arongghata Police Station on the night of October 22, 2021. The discovery of Dhali’s body led to the filing of a case by Farzana Begum, the wife of the deceased, with Arongghata Police Station on October 24.

During the investigation, police determined that the deceased’s son-in-law, Md Sheikh Rashed, and his younger brother were responsible for the murder. The motive for the crime was identified as a family feud, and the siblings disposed of the body beside the Teligati Bypass Highway. Subsequently, police submitted a charge sheet against the two siblings, leading to today’s verdict.
