Sylhet: A case has been filed against approximately 800 unidentified individuals following the attack and vandalism on various shops in Sylhet during a protest rally condemning Israeli actions in Gaza. Mustafizur Rahman, the area manager for Bata in Sylhet, lodged the complaint on Wednesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this marks the second case related to the attacks on different business enterprises, including a Bata showroom. Ziaul Haque, the Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, stated that two cases have been filed concerning the incident, with 21 individuals arrested so far.
The violence erupted on Monday afternoon during a protest rally against Israeli actions in Gaza. From 4pm to 5:30pm, demonstrators targeted and looted 13 business establishments in the city, including Bata, KFC, and Domino's Pizza. Earlier, on April 8, Abdul Matin Sarkar from Royal Mark Hotel filed a case against 30-40 unidentified individuals for vandalizing the hotel and looting valuables worth Taka 20-25 lakh.
