Dhaka: A mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Khulna, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, and Rangamati and is expected to persist, as per the latest weather bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). The weather conditions have prompted advisories for residents in these areas to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the weather forecast predicts that rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds may occur in one or two places across the Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. In other regions of the country, the weather is anticipated to remain predominantly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky.

The day temperatures are likely to rise slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged throughout the country. On Friday, the highest temperature recorded was 38.2 degrees Celsius at Bagabari in the Rajshahi Division, and today’s lowest temperature of 17.8 degrees Celsius was noted at Dimla in the Rangpur Division.

In the capital, sunset is expected at 6:16 pm, with sunrise tomorrow at 5:46 am. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the heat wave conditions.
