Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad Commemorates Independence Day with Solemn Ceremonies

Islamabad: Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad celebrated the National and Independence Day with due solemnity. The programmes included hoisting of the national flag, paying tributes to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and 2024 mass uprising, and observing one minute of silence.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, special prayers were offered seeking divine blessings for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the 1971 martyrs and those of 2024, as well as for the continued development, peace, and progress of the country. Messages from the Chief Adviser and Foreign Adviser were read out during the events organized at the mission to observe the day.



In addition to the solemn tributes, a documentary on the July Uprising was screened at the event. High Commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain addressed the programme as the chief guest, underscoring the significance of the day and the sacrifices made by the martyrs in the pursuit of Bangladesh’s independence and progress.
