Police Arrest Six Robbers in Sunamganj

Sunamganj: Police in two special drives arrested six robbers including a gang leader from Shantiganj upazila of the district last night. The law enforcers also recovered country-made firearms and weapons from their possessions.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police conducted a raid in the Ganiganj Bazar area based on a tip-off and apprehended Martuz Ali, the leader of the gang, from Bahadurpur village in Shantiganj upazila. Following his arrest, police gathered further information leading to the capture of Kafil Mia, 42, from Mirzapur village in Dirai thana, Mizanur Rahman, 50, from Henglakandi Noagaon village in Jalalabad thana, Md Syed Ali, 21, and Sajik Ali, 17, from Borokapan village in Shantiganj thana, and Kabir Hossain, 50, from Karari village in Shantiganj thana.

The six were arrested while allegedly preparing for a robbery at the Madabpur-Dirai point. Authorities stated that the suspects have been involved in multiple robberies and snatching incidents over an extended period. Several cases have been filed against them at different police stations.
