Dhaka: Twenty-nine civil surgeons have been designated as officers on special duty (OSD). The order was issued in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the Health Services Division Sanjeeda Sharmin on Sunday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the transferred or reassigned officials must join their new workplaces by March 6, 2025. Otherwise, they will be considered released from their current postings effective from March 9, 2025, said a press release here today.
The civil surgeons involved in this reassignment include Dr. Maria Hasan from Barisal, Dr. Md Akul Uddin from Kushtia, Dr. Abul Hadi Mohammad Shah Paran from Shariatpur, and Dr. Monisar Chowdhury from Sylhet. Others include Dr. Iftekhar from Noakhali, Dr. Mizanur Rahman from Pirojpur, Dr. Asif Ahmed Howlader from Cox’s Bazar, Dr. HM Jahirul Islam from Jhalakathi, and Dr. Md. Shihab Uddin from Feni.
Additionally, the list encompasses Dr. Shahidullah Dewan from Pabna, Dr. Muhammad Jasim Uddin from Sherpur, Dr. Md. Fazlul Haque from Jamalpur, Dr. SM Kabir Hossain from Patuakhali, Dr. Md. Mohiuddin from Meherpur, and Dr. Anupam Bhattacharya from Netrokona, among others.
This move affects a broad range of districts, with further designations including Dr. Minhaj Uddin Mia from Tangail, Dr. Nur Newaz Ahmed from Thakugaon, Dr. Kaniz Sabiha from Gaibandha, and Dr. Ruhul Amin from Joypurhat. The notification also lists Dr. Mahmuda Akhtar from Gazipur, Dr. Saiful Islam from Kishoreganj, Dr. Pradeep Chandra Mondal from Barguna, and Dr. Nazrul Islam from Naogaon.
The comprehensive list concludes with Dr. Mostafa Zaman Chowdhury from Rangpur, Dr. Hasibur Rahman from Nilphamari, Dr. Mokchedul Momin from Manikganj, Nirmalendu Roy from Lalmonirhat, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman from Panchagarh, and Dr. Manjur A Morshed.
