Army Chief Honors Liberation War Sappers at Engineers’ Conference

QADIRABAD: Army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid tribute to the sappers who participated in the country’s Liberation War, acknowledging their contributions alongside other freedom fighters. The tributes were delivered during the annual Commanding Officers’ conference of the military’s Corps of Engineers held at Qadirabad Cantonment.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the Commanding Officers and other members of the Engineers corps, discussing topics such as technical development, research, professional skill enhancement, and future plans. He emphasized the Corps of Engineers’ historical role in the nation’s development and their ongoing service to the country.

The Qadirabad Cantonment, which houses the Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering, served as the venue for this significant event. The army chief expressed his hope that the corps would maintain its important role in national progress through development activities executed with honesty, sincerity,
and a strong sense of duty.

Upon his arrival, General Waker-Uz-Zaman was greeted by the General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Army Engineer-in-Chief, and the commandant of ECSME. The conference was attended by senior military officers, commanding officers of all Engineer Brigades, COs of different units, and media representatives.
