DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines has successfully renewed its IOSA registration for the 12th time, ensuring compliance with international aviation safety standards until December 14, 2026. The audit, conducted by a five-member team from Argos Pros, a USA-based IATA-accredited audit organization, took place from September 1 to 5, 2024. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the IOSA audit is a globally recognized evaluation system that assesses the operational management and control systems of airlines. Conducted every two years, this audit is essential for Biman, an International Air Transport Association (IATA) member, to maintain its membership. Furthermore, IOSA certification is often a prerequisite for code-share agreements with other airlines and is mandatory for obtaining operational licenses in certain countries. Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Biman, stated that the IOSA registration will enhance the airline's reputation, build customer confidence, and strengthen its ability to access new markets and establish business partnerships.
