CHANDPUR: A memorial meeting was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office here today to remember the martyrs and the injured of the July-August mass uprising. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin and moderated by Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Al-Imran Khan. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting featured speeches from prominent figures including Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Nur Alam Din, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Superintendent of Chandpur Government General Hospital Dr. AKM Mahbubu Rahman, and President of Chandpur Press Club Shahadat Hossain Shanto. The speakers highlighted the significance of the anti-discrimination student movement of July-August, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the martyrs serve as a lasting source of inspiration. Among the attendees, Israt Jahan Bindu, a master's student from Chandpur Government College, Majah id Shihab, an honors second year student from Cumilla Victoria College, and Rakib Bhuiyan, an honors second year student from Chandpur Government College, also addressed the gathering, paying homage to the martyrs of the uprising.
