Dhaka: A dialogue was held yesterday between Dhaka University (DU) administration and various student political organizations with DU Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan in the chair. Pro VC (admin) Professor Dr Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro VC (education) Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, among others, were present, said a DU press release here today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the dialogue covered a range of issues crucial to the students and the university environment. Key topics included ensuring a conducive educational atmosphere on campus, organizing DUCSU elections, and enhancing the security of female students. The dialogue also addressed the need to keep the campus free from outsiders, improve the food quality in university canteens and cafeterias, and resolve the accommodation crisis in student halls. Representatives from various student political bodies participated in the disc ussions. These organizations included Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Biplobi Chhatra Maithri, Ganatantrik Chhatra Council, Bangladesh Student Union, Islami Chhatra Andolan, Chhatra Adhikar Parishad, Swadhin Bangladesh Chhatra Sangsad, Parbottyo Chattogram Chhatra Sangsad, Bangladesh Chhatra Federation, and Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (Marxism).
