DHAKA: A tragic incident unfolded on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Dhamrai Upazila as Faridul Islam, a 34-year-old man from Rajapur in the Pabna district, lost his life in a road accident while transporting his deceased wife’s body. The accident occurred when the freezer van he was traveling in collided with a roadside tree.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place at noon when the driver of the freezer van lost control of the vehicle in the Balitha area of the highway. The collision resulted in the immediate death of Faridul Islam. The van was en route to Manikganj from Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Faridul was transporting his wife’s body along with several relatives.
In addition to Faridul’s tragic death, five other individuals sustained injuries in the accident. The incident has been confirmed by Officer-in-Charge of Golra Highway Thana, Rupol Chandra Das. The highway police are investigating the circumstances that led to the driver’s loss of control, contributing to this
unfortunate event.
