Sharif’s Five-Wicket Haul Puts Chattogram on Brink of Victory Over Rajshahi.

Chattogram: Pacer Ahmed Sharif returned figures of 5-47 as Chattogram sensed a victory against Rajshahi Division in their fifth round game of the National Cricket League (NCL) today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Thanks to Sharif's bowling, Chattogram had reduced Rajshahi to 202-8 at stumps on Day 2. Rajshahi are now ahead by just 62 runs with two wickets at hand. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chattogram earlier added 79 runs to their overnight 173-8 to be all out for 252 runs, taking a 140-run lead. Rajshahi were bowled out for just 112 in their first innings. Shamim Patwari hammered 84 to help Chattogram take their lead past 100 after they resumed the innings today. Sabbir Hosan and Wasi Siddique took three wickets apiece for Rajshahi. Sabbir also kept his good work with the willow by scoring 54 in Rajshahi's second innings. Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim made 40. But Ahmed Sharif sliced through the middle order, ably supported by Irfan Hossain who took two wickets. Fahad Hossain, who derailed Rajshahi with a five-wicket haul in the first innings, went wicket-less in the second innings so far.
