Narayanganj: Eight people, including women and children, sustained burn injuries in a gas explosion caused by a leakage at Dhakeshwari-2 in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj Sadar upazila today. The injured individuals are Hannan, 40, his wife Nurjahan Lucky, 30, their daughters Jannat, 3, and Samia, 9, and son Sabbir, 16, along with Sohagh, 23, his wife Rupali, 20, and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Sumaiya.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred early this morning when a gas line leakage led to a sudden explosion, engulfing the victims in flames. They were immediately rushed to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Resident Surgeon of the hospital Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman stated that most of the victims have suffered major burns, and their condition remains critical.
