Jamalpur: An unidentified woman was killed after being hit by the Brahmaputra intercity train at Compopur area in Sadar upazila this morning. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamalpur Railway Police Md Rabiul Islam reported that the Dhaka-bound train from Dewanganj Bazar station struck the woman while she was walking near the railway track. She died instantly.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police have recovered the body and sent it to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The woman's identity remains unknown, as stated by police officials.
A UD (Unnatural Death) case has been registered with the Jamalpur Railway police station to investigate the incident further.
