6 held with wine, hemp in Chapainawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained six alleged drug peddlers and recovered 1,220 litres of cholai wine and five kgs of hemp in two separate drives yesterday. The arrested were Shree Paresh Tudu, 32 of Dighipara, Shree Ganesh Pahan, 30 of Joben Kobin village both under Nachole upazila, Shree Rupen Murmu, 40 of Jalahar, Shree Ajit Murali, 25 of Nadhai Krisnapur, Shree Sunil Tudu, 34 of Delbari and Md Bablu, 55 of Baliadanga under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila. RAB said acting on a tip off, an operation team of RAB-5 conducted a raid at Dighipara village under Nejampur union of Nachole upazila in the district at around 4:30 pm and arrested Paresh, Ganesh, Rupen, Ajit and Sunil and seized 1,220 litres of cholai wine from their possession. In a separate operation a team of the elite force raided Sadarghat Paikortala More under Baliadanga union of sadar upazila at around 9:55 pm and arrested Bablu with five kgs of hemp.
